Job Promotion

Just got word I am getting a nice promotion at work.

Girlfriend wants to take me to a nice dinner. She isn’t drinking as well in support of me (she has no issue with alcohol)

The good job news has triggered me a bit. On day 4.

The good job news has triggered me a bit.

Getting drunk would be a good way to screw up the new job promotion. Don't drink.

Congrats on the job and on having a supportive GF!

I recommend a half pint orange juice with a half pint lemonade and a tablespoon of grenadine.

Good for you getting a promotion and not drinking over it. That's the way to ensure more promotions in the future.

Congrats! Look at it as the start of great new beginnings and leave alcohol in the past, where it belongs.

Congrats on the promo! But,yea.. I would use good news, bad news and no news as an excuse to get drunk in the past. Just keep on going and eventually a drink(s) will not even cross your mind on these occasions.

All great points. The excitement definitely has me wishing I was “normal”

I won’t drink. But it stinks. Not use to this, but I know being use to sober will come.

Really want a beer with the steak dinner.

Congratulations

I think you're normal - based on history, you've just determined its best for you to be a non drinker

if you're skittish, maybe go to an unlicensed restaurant?
have a good time
