Introductions
Hello. I just wanted to introduce myself.
I'm seraphyne. I'm based in Asia. I work in the entertainment/cultural sector, running a large team of fantastic people i
Like a lot of people in our profession, I have had an issue with drinking for some years now. I have managed to keep myself 'high functioning’, but I know I have done until damage to my health, and am limiting my potential.
I decided to try detoxing, after I noticed several friends with similar issues doing the same.
I'm here to seek support, advice and peer-connection, privately and anonymously, as this isn't something I want to speak about publicly even with friends and family.
Only on Day 3, so have a very long way to go.
Thanks for having me here.

Welcome Seraphyne,
How is the detox going, any withdrawal symptoms?
You should join the august 2018 class and post as often as possible. It's a class of all those who have decided to get sober this month :

Welcome, Seraphyne!
Like you, I like to keep some things only to a very trusted few. I have found this site to be very encouraging, the people on here to be compassionate, wise and understanding. I come on here and read every day and especially when I'm feeling a craving.

I already feel like I am learning so much from the generosity, strength and bravery of members here. Thanks for being there. What’s your own story?

It's Day 4 now.
Still feeling fatigued and achy, and I can sense irritation os right there under the surface.
I was very lucky that yesterday was a public holiday where I live, as i was feeling a bit rotten.
But I got through a tricky situation last night (dinner out with a friend who was drinking, and who I normally drink with). So that's a mini-milestone under my belt.
I have another such situation tonight, so let's see how that goes.
Thanks for the support.
