Weekender Thread 16-20 August 2018

I'd like to welcome anyone new to SR and new to this thread.

Weekends can be a tough time, and that's what this thread is about - support.

We also share bits and pieces of our lives and the things that are important to us, or make us laugh..anything that makes the journey a little easier

If you've never jumped into a weekender thread before - no time like today...do it now!

Thanks Dee and hello all.

I'm in for the weekend.

I haven't been on here as much as I was initially, I'm dealing with health issues but I'm still sober and doing ok. In the past I may well have wobbled and given in to temptation but AVRT is still making a big difference for me.

In the past few weeks I've probably had more social interaction on here than I have at anytime in recent years, it's been good but it's also been a bit of a shock to the system and maybe too much too soon.

Oh my goodness...I forgot about this cat jump gif. Many laughs have been had by me over this one...probably a lot of them liquor-induced, but it's still funny sober.

Just another angle on slippery places.

Jump in and post!

I'm in for a sober weekend.

Thank you Dee!

I've been having a hard time a work....well, because I hate my job LOL....I don't really discuss my personal life with others, but yesterday I found myself making drinking comments to a co-worker like "I'd really like some wine but I should probably wait for the weekend" ~ Ugh! WTF did I say that for?!?

It's much better with my SR posse!

Ha I get that Purpl, I say all kinds of dumb things like that! My neighbor is a liquor rep, I’m cat sitting for her this weekend, she offered me free reign of her cabinet and I said something like “woohoo thanks!” So that sure felt weird!

Anyway the same neighbor is also lending me her car for the weekend, I kind of want to plan a big grocery shopping trip or something. I have to work a lot but I can at least get myself to and fro.

I can’t wait to have a little car next year. It’s been so long. I finally addressed the collection agency that now has my student loan and told them what my expenses are vs my income, and they agreed that I don’t seem to be able to pay very much every month, so they have set me up with a payment plan for a small amount until I can finally get on my feet. I hope that by next year, I’ll have paid my divorce debt and can get a little car of my own. I don’t need anything fancy!

I'm in for another sober weekend. I think I'm up to something like 185 of them now. Give or take.

I love my sober weekends. I get so much done (when I feel like it) and have so much more fun. I'm planning on having productive and fun sober weekends for the rest of my life!

In. I'm sorry you're having to deal with health issues No but congratulations on not drinking, that's got to help.

So I have been to a Nuclear Plant in the far north of Scotland that is in the process of decommissioning. I was not allowed to take pics, they even took my mobile and laptop util we got to the meeting room. I was able to take a pic of this though, it is ridiculously remote. I was the only nutter there.
