Small But Consistent Change
In the past I tried to use NLP books and CDs by Paul Mckenna to stop smoking. In that case it didn't stop me what stopped me was my fear of smoking became greater than my desire. Literally every time I inhaled I worried about the damage I was doing. 5 years quit coming soon.
However, one thing about NLP stuck in my mind. It was that our lives are like an ocean liner travelling at sea. A small but consistent change now will make a massive change in direction and destination over time.

It takes time to see results from the small, good choices and new habits. It also pays huge dividends to keep making them. The idea of "making the next right. Choice" then repeat...that stuck with me early on and it's often something I use to take me back to basics now.
I really like that metaphor too. Thank you. That's another wonderful SR contribution to my journal.....also fear is such a powerful motivator....my desire to change is definitely born out of change.
