Day 2 - Feeling the stress

Well I am now here on day 2 and despite still awaiting for results from the doctor and still being in a fair bit of pain and following an absolutely terrible night Tring to sleep...

Thanks to all those on here for the reassuring words, it definitely helped me until I finally dropped off to sleep just before 5am!

Today the temptation is so there to have a wine!!! I haven't got any in the house but live across the road from my local bar which I'd of normally been sitting in from 4pm until closing...

I'm not though!

I'm trying to keep the memory fresh in my mind of how aweful the first night was and hope that tonight goes smoother! Also helps that it's day 2 and so all going well in just those two days of not visiting the said bar by my calculation that will be about £75 saved already!

I need to keep focusing on the future and hope that tomorrow I get some good news from the doctor.

Thanks again all, it is good to have this forum to express yourself and read other people's stories to understand I'm not alone.

Yes, the early days of sobriety can be tough. To your mind and body.
Just remember, there's nothing a drink will make better.
Please make this your last day two. I had so many of them, I hate to see somebody suffer what I did, so you're in my thoughts.

You are doing great! It does get easier every day. I have a lot of hot baths and do meditation (mindful peace on youtube) to help deal with stress. Worth having a look. Best wishes to you. You can do it xx

Those early days are rough on us - but everything should become less intense as time passes.
Congrats on your Day 2 - we know what hard work it is.

Thanks again for the encouraging words, it's good to be able to reflect on something sounding positive when my head is telling me that there isn't anything to be positive about right now! :-)

I'm currently listening the guy from "Viva la Bam" pretty good way to kill an hour and so far it's pretty interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OG--M8B04DA
