Day 2 of this low patch.

Almost 17 months sober now.
Been having thoughts of drinking.
Always happens in times of adversity. It’s when my beast tries to get its foot in the door.
I can see why people go back to the booze after a long time away from it.
Been emotional and exhausted but managed to get my work done and do my daddy duties.
Just got to weather the storm. It’ll pass soon. If it doesn’t it’ll pass later.

Trying to stay positive and not dwell on imaginary catastrophes that might happen.
My brain has had a lot of new input lately so it’s auto installing the upgrade version 17.0

Hi Snowy,

You know that however bad you're feeling now if you drink it's just going to make you feel 100% worse. Your AV and Beast are deceptive liars, through and through. There is nothing positive at the end of the path they would like you to take, nothing at all.

Try and be strong and weather that storm, clearer skies lie ahead that's for sure!

You will never regret not drinking! And it absolutely won't help.

When I weather tough spots sober I believe I become stronger. Each time. Not sure how long that goes on but I would imagine for years. I lost my hearing in my left ear for 2 days. To say I was distressed was an understatement. And not only could I not hear, I had a loud fan like sound in it and a 'fullness' that was alarming. I kept my shlit together, got a referral for an ear and nose dr, planned to call today, but it appears to be resolved. I did, for a brief minute, think of drinking. It wasn't even a craving....it was just my hardwire programming.

Anyway, hang in there. It'll pass. And maybe take some time for yourself, if you can. Escape in a healthy way.

No way Snowy. Your posts are always inspiring and insightful and have aided me on my journey.

Thoughts are just that - mere thoughts. The action you won't be taking is pouring the poison down your throat.

Ride this out.

Hard wire programming, yes. Mine wasn’t a craving either. Just a list of what should i do’s and that one cropped up.
Funny you should mention the ear thing.
Had bad tinnitus for a couple of days now. Think is my neck causing it and my daughters tantrum.

Thanks less’ that’s very kind of you.

I shudder at the thought of drinking that junk.

Yes I know that physical feeling too, even only 100+ days away from it. I have a cold and took some Dayquil today. Had some indigestion where I could taste some of the medicine and it had a faint alcohol flavor to it - honestly gave me the worst feeling - felt deep dread, spontaneously, as if I had taken a shot.

NO thanks. Here's to us. Sober as birds.

Scary business that. Alcohol in medicine.
Hope you get well soon.
Glad you’re keeping away from the sauce.

More upbeat and a natural positive outlook on the day today.

Makes me glad to be sober.

2 bad days is nothing compared to who knows how long if I’d had a drink.

Quick fix is a lie.

P.s
Thanks for the support and kind words everyone.
