My “User ID” is LSNP...... a tagline me ex husband gave me when I divorced him.

His version was: Life Sentence, No Parole.

I turned it into: Living Sober, No Problem.

Except it has been nearly eight years without a sober day.

I am ready to be done, finally.

My ex is gone, my kids are grown and off, and alcohol has been my pacifier. I am ready to grow up.

August 1st. A Wednesday. Middle of the week.

Would appreciate help with a PLAN.

My plan, currently, is to take my daughter to a breakfast dinner after work, eat so much I am sleepy, and go to bed as soon as I get home.

I just bought another Texas. Should last until next Wed. Maybe.

I am trying to work a plan. I want to wean a bit before, then.

I want to be sober.

Period.

Please.

Drunk as I type......

You can get sober as long as you want to be sober more than you want to drink.

I've been there. Especially after there was no one to answer to. A license to drink.
Wish I had a plan for you. Have you tried AA? It worked for me and I was a drunk for thirty years.
I hope you can devise something that will work for you, it is so worth it..
Best to you.

Come back when you are sober, then the healing can begin.

I'm glad you've joined us and made the decision to stop drinking. Stay close, read a lot, post a lot. Do you have a plan for in person support?

My plan to begin with involved as much sleeping as possible.

Hi and welcome back LSNP

This is a great link of recovery action plans - things like keeping busy and keeping healthy are great but they don't address the desire to drink so much.

A good plan will

I also recommend highly becoming a regular visitor here again - post and read every day or several times a day - feed yourself with recovery
