Finally feeling good

12 days into sobriety and i am finally starting to feel genuinely well. A strange kind of happiness lasting for atleast half a day now. Finally rewarding.

That is awesome! It gets better. Stay away from the first drink!

I'm glad you're feeling better. Remember that early sobriety can be a very 'bumpy ride', so have a plan in place for those moments of temptation.

I agree with least, there will be "down" days, don't let that discourage you. You'll still feel better 99% of the time.

I found it was the effort I put in to recovery when feeling good that got me through the more difficult times.

I agree - this helps others inmensely! And it will help you if you start to question why you WANT to be sober. Congrats on 13 days - it does level out but its always better here!

Well done. They call the strange happiness the pink cloud. It comes and goes it is relief thinking that you are getting your life back. There will be ups and downs accept the good with the bad feelings and stay sober. Longterm you will have the good feelings and own that cloud.

Nice job. It just gets better to me. Life is not promised and is rife with suffering - but the confidence and the knowledge you gain by being present and sober is priceless.
