I'm sorry that you're struggling. You are smart to go to the ER. Let them help you. This can be the very last time you have to experience this. Let this be it.

Thanks. I’m sitting in the parking lot. Scared out of my mind

Go in and let them help you. You'll feel so much better with help to get through withdrawal.

I'm sorry you're having such a difficult time. As posted above, let the ER help you. They can make your withdrawal more comfortable. This can be your last Day 1. ((HUGS))

Thanks for the support. I walked in and have admitted that I’m suffering from alcohol withdrawal which is embarrassing. But the shakes will go away from this point

seeking help is never embarrassing. What we do on alcohol is. Well done for going in that's great

Smart of you to seek help. Very smart to go to the ER because you know you will be monitored in case things get bad. Withdrawals are nothing to mess with. Ask if they have a councelor that could come in and talk with you. This really helps while you are laying there in the bed.

Wanted to say thanks for the support. The Er is a very emotional experience. But they helped and were nice and friendly. They gave me fluids and some Librium to take home. We talked about in patient and outpatient. I can’t do outpatient because I am trying to keep my job and get paid. They are looking into out patient. But they dedudicable from my insurance is high. We will find another way.

I think there are many different types of outpatient programs. Some are four or five days a week, others not so much. Hopefully you will find one that you can afford. I've been in outpatient programs and they were fantastic!! John

Sinking - I felt the same way the last time I drank. I never picked up again. I was exhausted from trying to manage it - and finally was convinced it was impossible. This can be your last time out.

Thanks. I’ve been avoiding family because we got into it about my drinking binge. I’ve called out 4 days. So that’s a sign I’ve been drinking again. I have a doctors note to cover 2 out of 4 days. Hopefully they will show mercy on me.

I know what you mean about calling in "sick" at work. I would start drinking on Friday night, keep drinking over the weekend and wake up Monday morning. Would call in sick either Sunday afternoon or Monday morning. Sometimes didn't show up to work until Wednesday and even that was tough. When I did show up, I'm sure I looked like a train wreck, sometimes with black eyes and cuts that I don't remember getting. Speaking about family; my mother that was living me eventually moved out cause of my drinking and said she didn't want to see me kill myself.
I don't know your age, but it doesn't matter. If you have any services where you live that could help you, I say go for it. Outpatient, inpatient, group or individual counseling, AA RR, etc. Grab hold of anything you can. John

If you want to be sober more than you want to drink, then this can be your last day one.
