90+ Days Sober

Today marks 92 days without a drink of alcohol.

My Sober Date is April 11, 2018.

This marks the longest time that I've been sober since quitting for the first time back in early 2016. (see my post below).

Things are not perfect.
But I have learned so much in past 2 years.
Today - I am very optimistic never the less.

Getting 100% sober "ain't easy". There are hours of some days that I am literally climbing walls. But I have managed to gather some sober tools and build sober plans ... Which are essential in getting "over the hump" and becoming a Non-Drinker.

Thank you all -
Best to all Newcomers and Old Timers here!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Below is my first post here on SR .. From July 2016.

3's a Charm ... Day 2 ... I need a boost !

Greetings to the group.

I have been sober about 4 months out of the past 7 months.

Twice in past year I've been sober for nearly 60 days in a row .... But then I get to a point in sobriety that I think everything is cool and I can have a drink or 7. That goes fine for about 3-4 weeks until I start to feel that ugly and queezy feeling ...in my gut....... That's telling me that this is not how I want to live.

Today is Day 2 ..... Last drink was Sunday July 24 at 6pm.

I want to be sober. Clean, Happy, Live a Guilt Free life...... hold my head high and sober ;-). I don't want to be the guy that has to hide from people (because I'm drunk). I don't want my kids to see me this way. I want to have fun with my wife and not have her questioning me (since I hide my drinking). Mostly, I want to perform my day job with gusto... I want to write songs and sing strong and clear...

Thanks for listening.

Congrats MR and BDTL! I'm right behind you both. Day 83. I finally feel like my brain chemistry is finally rebalancing. The good days are beginning to outnumber the not so good ones, however, it's still a roller coaster. I have very little motivation to do much other than the basics, altho I'm confident this will improve along with my confidence and self esteem.

Just wanted to hear what you guys are experiencing in general at his point.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

Mike my paws symptoms include anger at things happening, myself, and other people who have no clue I'm angered with them. Still having some foggy stuff going on with my thinking and if I don't work out (exercise) at my gym forms of sadness, depression, etc. sneak in. Staying busy and attending my AA meetings and talking about this really helps. In fact I brought this topic up last night and walked out of the room feeling soooooooooo much better. Finding out you are not alone is huge in recovery. Stay strong brother and we'll reach our journey staying diligent in out quest.
