Trying to Quit
We don't pick up. We know deep in our heart we can't drink safely, without some consequences. And when I want to not drink more than I want to drink, I'm on my way to staying stopped.
I wish you well on your sober journey! Keep reading, lots to hear about!

Welcome. This can be the day you get your life back on track. It's a decision that will change everything for the better.
Why not post in the June Class thread? It's others who have chosen to stop drinking this month. My class thread was my home base for a while in early days.
Here's the link, pop over and say, "Hi,"

Welcome,
I was the same way for many years. Drank every day and was depressed when I didn't. In another month it will be 5 years since I've picked up.
So yes, it can be done.
This site has a lot of healthy encouragement and knowledge.
Use it to help you.

Welcome,
It's always a good idea to talk to your doctor if you're concerned about withdrawals from alcohol because it can be dangerous and unpredictable.
It's a good start to get rid of all the alcohol in your house and don't buy anymore. Make a plan to be busy doing something different during the times you'd be drinking. Shop at different stores, drive home by a different route to help break the habit of stopping to buy alcohol.
You will find lots of support here, so I hope you continue to read and post.
