Sundays are difficult

I am struggling today. Sundays are always depressing to me. I can't go anywhere as I don't have a car and the shuttle bus is not running. I have run out of books to read. I could watch YouTube videos. Go for a walk but due to physical limitations I am not able to walk very far. The scary thing is that the liquor store is just round the corner. So I decided to post here. Will read the support threads next.

I agree with the posts above! Also, you could do some push-ups, run in place, etc.

He, I am so out of shape that running would kill me. I could do push-ups, against a wall.

Sundays are hard for me too. I think sometimes it’s mt mind playing tricks on me. If you’re like me, the weekend is almost over and tomorrow is another long week of work. So my mind tells me today is the last chance to “eacape” and drink the day away. Which is crap. Like I want to start a Monday morning sluggish and hung over. That being said that voice in my head can be awfully convincing 😭

Sundays and Mondays have always been the worst. Dreading the week ahead with alcohol paranoia. Sundays are still hard, but a lot better than with alcohol.

I wish I could paint. You should get those juices flowing.

Are you wheelchair bound?

No sweet Horn I can limp around and swim, ride bicycle for a mile or two if I have the chance, and do some targeted gym. Alcohol killed a lot of my creativity but I know I will get some of it back.

I'm glad you logged in and posted. Art sounds like a great outlet for you. There are also lots of great videos on you tube.

How long have you been sober for? I have found things get easier the more sobriety you have.

You should pop into the 24 hour thread, it's a great group!

I read something recently that said Sunday afternoon blues are a known phenomenon. Which seems pretty obvious given the end of the weekend, upcoming workweek, etc., but it was nice to hear science tell me it wasn't all just in my head

Yes, get back into art! I'd love to have an artist's ability. That would be a good use of your energy.
