Christian Tunes
For those with bad days, or good, I find listening to Christian music helps a lot in sobriety, urges, and all of life’s problems. I’m a rock kind of guy. If you like that genre, you should look up “Broken Things” by Matthew West.
One portion of the lyrics should be inspiring to us all. “The pages of history they tell me it’s true, that it’s never the perfect; it’s always the ones with the scars that you use.”
“But if it’s true, you use broken things, then here I am Lord, I am all yours.”
Pretty powerful...
Anybody else got some good ones?

It has been a long time for me, too. I remember I liked Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, Audio Adrenaline, Rebecca St. James, etc.
My all time favorite was Rich Mullins, but he was a bit farther back. He died tragically in a horrible traffic accident, but he had some great songs. He wasn't the greatest singer but he was an amazing writer. He wrote most all his songs and his praise is in the words. I really miss him.
This is one of my favorites:

I love Christian music. Chris Tomlin is my favorite, but I like Big Daddy Weave, Sidewalk Prophets, Monk and Neagle, MercyMe, Casting Crowns, and more. I listen every morning on my way to work, and on my way home.

I got this link from a friend in AA. I don't think this fellow is considered a Christian artist but he's sure praying. And you can't beat the topic for this forum.

I took the 30 day KLOVE challenge several years ago, to listen to only Christian music for 30 days. After that, it was like having a God filter on other music. Imagine Dragons "Believer" and "Whatever It Takes" speak to me deeply, directly from God. Going between different channels and genres, my mind and heart open to life in new ways. I posted Matthew West's "Strong Enough" lyrics on a day I realized how deeply I needed that message. I'm feeling that again today.
"I know I'm not strong enough to be
Everything that I'm supposed to be
I give up
I'm not strong enough
Hands of mercy won't you cover me
Lord right now I'm asking you to be
Strong enough
Strong enough
For the both of us"
Thanks for this thread.

Has anyone here ever felt broken?
If yes then you will relate to this song. Christian or not. I love this song and the video makes it that much more powerful. I was fortunate enough to see Jason Gray in concert a few years ago and he told his story. It turns out he stutters. He grew up feeling broken. His message is beautiful.

That must have been a great concert! Agreed, someone shared that song on another forum and it resonated with me even though I'm an atheist. The lyrics and video were a direct match for me as music was the way love was sung to me even as I thought I didn't deserve it.. I like how he has their pictures taped to his guitar and no matter what the person thought about themselves is all he saw was beloved.
When I lose my way,
And I forget my name
Remind me who I am
In the mirror all I see
Is who I don't wanna be
Remind me who I am
That's what recovery was like for me even though it took awhile to get to the state of "beloved". Once there, that's all you need.
I'm a HUGE For King & Country fan! I especially like their song, Shoulders.
