Vets for Sobriety
I had an idea! I need some advice and ideas from all of you! Your input is important, so please reply if you have anything.
I’m a Marine Infantry veteran, and figured it would be a great idea to start a support group for sobriety in my area.
Basically, it would be a group that meets a few times a week. It would be highly activity based, as many people don’t necessarily want to sit and talk about addiction, sobriety, and relapses the whole time. But, some meetings would be structured for those topics.
The activities could/would include hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, darts, pool, bean bag toss, golf, and anything else you may have ideas for.
Also, maybe some type of exercise day. Going for a run, weight lifting, and other similar things.
What other ideas would be good for this group? What helped you in group settings, or activities that helped maintain sobriety?
Thanks for any input!
