Those are the options for an alcoholic; keep drinking and the future is bleak. Commit to staying stopped and working a program with more effort than you used to get smashed with and your future will be bright and you will be at peace. No brainer.

It may seem obvious but the majority of alcoholics never get it and their future turns out to be very bleak. The paradox of recovery is that it really is very simple yet that the majority never get it as they say it’s too difficult or not for them.
