Giving up for good
Hi
So I've been drinking this morning. Only half a glass of wine. I've spent the last few days drinking. I'm giving up for good. Alcohol and me don't mix well. I don't have any aa meetings in my area but am going to post every day

Hi S,
Glad you found this place, it's been great so far for me.
I'm 49 days sober now, which if I'm honest is a a minor miracle. Feeling tons better though in all ways possible. So stick with it !
Best Regards,
Johnnie.

Good - make this the last time, doc.
Keep posting. Take a walk. Call a sober friend. Eat.
Don't forget the HALT reminder: Are you hungry, angry, lonely, tired? Fix that and it may keep you from drinking in that moment.

Hello Schizodoc,
I'm not sure what motivated you to choose your username, but I can certainly identify with the "schizo" (split) nature of alcohol use. Part of me wants to stop using, part of me wants nothing more than to continue.
If you're familiar with the AVRT approach, it asks: which part, the one that wants to stop or the one that wants to continue, is most allied with what you as a person consider your values, your ideals, your aspirations, and your authentic self?
