Hi, New Again
I don’t know why I’m posting, I just am. My drinking has progressed in the last few days, I’m now drinking during the day. My girlfriend has no idea, and I called in sick today because I was so hungover. Started drinking at 1:30 which is so not me.
Alcoholism is a progressive disease so it's not surprising that you are noticing you're drinking more and drinking during the day. I hope that you decide you are ready to stop drinking for good. We are here to offer support.
You are here posting so I know a part of you wants this cycle to end. Why can't today be the day? What's stopping you? Can you pour out what you are drinking, eat something, get some rest, and plan for a sober day tomorrow? You don't deserve this life, your girlfriend doesn't deserve this life.
Are you prepared to hurt the people that mean the most to you? Please stop now before this happens.

But it is so you...now. As Anna pointed out, alcoholism is progressive. Don't let it progress to the point that you can't do anything about it.
It's great that you are posting, but perhaps Sober Recovery isn't enough. You've been to what? One AA meeting? One ain't going to get you sober. The meetings themselves won't. Perhaps it is time to get a sponsor and work the steps.
And if you are vehemently against AA, there are still methods that will get you sober. But you have to employ them.

I'm glad you came back & posted, SWB. It's good to see you.
You know you can't continue on this way - that's why you are here. I wanted to believe I could use willpower & be in control, but it never worked out that way. Every time it was in my system I never knew what would happen. It was dangerous for me to have even one drink. That's why quitting for good was the only way to stay safe. Hope you will consider stopping. Posting here helps us find the courage to change our lives.
