Hey Lorij, what's your plan this time around and what caused you to drink again?

I don't know..... I'm gonna talk to my therapist, journal, be mindful. Read up on everything I can.

Focusing on a plan is crucial, especially in those early days - one thing that has been hammered into me in my time on SR by wiser souls.

Are you able to get to any meetings?

Have you tried Rational Recovery?

Sticking around here can help very much as well. Keep posting, keep not drinking.

Just another method that works for some. I've found it's strategies including identifying your Alcoholic Voice (AV) to be incredibly helpful. Much of what the method includes and involves has brought me to finally accept and be secure in my sobriety, though it took some time.

google 'Rational Recovery'.

You can also check the secular/alternative methods boards on SR.

I can chat more about it any time, PM me if you find yourself interested in it.

Hi Lori, have you joined the June 2018 class? All you have to do is start reading and posting in the thread. My most important tool (especially when I was in really early sobriety, I'm still very early at 5.5 months) was to start each day by posting how I was feeling, what I planned to do when I felt like drinking, and learn and commisserate with others. It kind of set my intention for the day, you know?

Feeling strong today!!! I don't know why I do it to myself when I feel so much better not drinking! Very thankful for this board.

Nice work. Focus on that feeling of strength and calm that sobriety gifts to us drunks. The rest of the world takes this stuff for granted! Not us!
