I was also newly diagnosed with ADD which my therapist had me tested for after about 2 sessions back in November. I think ADD has contributed to my addiction and wondered if anyone else has been diagnosed in adulthood and also has a drinking problem?

I haven't been diagnosed but I definitely have it. I used to take adderall and it would take a lot to actually get me high because I actually needed it. I find it very hard to focus on one thing, and that certainly played in with drinking. I could never enjoy the drink I was on, the bar I was at; I was always fidgety and thinking about going to the next bar, or taking the next shot, etc. Mindfulness has helped but medication can help too

Not ADD, but I have aspergers which is equally challenging.

Not diagnosed, but own definite this "skill".

Getting sober with ADD is not that easy, cause we tend to focus on instant gratification.
