O/T There really are some good people out there

I told y'all that I was moving to be closer to my son. Well, I never thought it was going to be as fast as it did go. I thought my house would be on the market for about 6 months or longer. That is the normal time for this part of Pa. My house was listed on a Monday and I got an offer for it on that Wednesday. Full listing price.

So, I did find a house that I loved. It's "a little" ummm, "unique". Will post pics once I move there since I don't want to link to the house posting.

I just went to the house inspection this past Tues. The house is 77 years old, so I didn't think it was going to be perfect. Well, there was one major problem. It had a Federal Pacific circuit breaker panel. There are many problems with this, and it was strongly suggested that it be replaced. I talked to my real estate agent about this and she got someone to go there to look at it for an estimate to replace it. Well, the owner was there. When he heard about the problems with that unit, he just said, "I'll replace it before she moves in, I want her to feel safe and secure here". My real estate agent then said to him, do you want to talk to your real estate agent first about this, the man said no, he might give me a hard time about it, and try to save me money, but I just want the buyer to feel safe here.

I did stay for awhile after the inspection was done on Tues and just talked to the owners since they were there for that. They showed me what switches controlled what lights, we walked around their garden, and talked about the plants and shrubs and what needed to be done with them each year, they were just so nice. They are moving for the same reason that I am moving. To be closer to their children.

They are also going to let me move my stuff in before the closing since my closing for my house is on June 5th, I close on my new house on June 7th.

I remember when I was married and my ex told me that no one liked me that they were only nice to me because I was such a b!tch and they were all afraid of me, and they were only nice to me because they liked him. I'm divorced from him now for almost 8 years and everyone that I have met since then has been nothing but nice to me.

I've also been in touch with my lawyer from my divorce, we do keep in touch regularly, she said, my brother lives in Frederick Md, maybe I could stop by some time when I go to see him. She told me that she loves my house and really wants to see it. I told her any time she is in the area to stop by. It's funny, I am moving to Waynesboro Pa to be closer to my son, who lives in Frederick Md.

((((((((((hugs to all)))))))))))
and thank you for always being there for me

Can’t wait to see pics, Amy.
Great story, too.
I think that most people are inherently good and want to do the right thing.

I too absolutely love your new home Amy..!!!!

It looks so quaint, so strong, safe, inviting, cottagey
like. Love love the screened in porch, the door to
a cellar in case of a storm? And beautiful bay window.

Im hoping you will return with new pictures down
the road when you get all moved in. Okay?

Thank you for sharing your joy with us.

What a great house,

Is that a sun-room there on the side? Many happy hours can be spent there !

I think only the first photo is your new house and the other photos might be your previous house?

I really don't know how to post an album. When I look at both links, I only see the house that I am buying, but it could be because I am on my own computer. Do these pictures show the inside of the sun room, and the galley kitchen? My current house is a raised ranch log cabin. I do have pics of that in photo bucket, so I don't know if that is what the link is picking up. New place has wooden floors in all rooms except for ceramic tiles in kitchen, bathroom, and sun room. Let me know which one you are seeing

Thanks
amy

PS - If I did it wrong, I will try again.

This is what I'm seeing. It's in an album titled "New House". It is beautiful.

It has a fabulous energy!

When will you be moving?

Mango, I think I will be moving on June 7th. Still trying to work that out. Even though the people who own this house would be kind enough to let me move my stuff in before the closing, I still have 4 cats that I would have to house somewhere. The closing on my current house is for June 5th, ( I may be able to change that to a later date ).

I would like to be able to close on the new house before the closing on my old house, so that I only have to move the cats once. The problem is the down payment for new house. I can actually borrow that from my IRA and treat that as a rollover and get the money back into the IRA within 60 days. I would have the money to repay my IRA in about a week after I close on my current house.
