Saying no feels great
On a normal week this is the time I'd really start knocking back the beers, tough week at work, sun is shining and the start of the weekend, but today IV reminded myself on why I shouldn't, I can't just have one or two,and I'm a horrible drunk at the end of the night, good luck to everyone else out there battling there demons today, hope you all stay positive and remember the reasons that led you to this point
It does feel good doesn't it?
And yes, no matter how hard the cravings get for me they are never as bad as how hard I crave my next (and next, and next) drink for the rest of the night.
Running out of booze and having to sober up? Wow, now that sucked, glad I don't have to deal with that anymore!

To paraphrase something Dee said a while back: I have never regretted NOT drinking. Many a morning have been filled with regret, shame, anger, and general sickness after a night of binging. The best mornings and days I have ever had followed a night of fighting off the AV demons. Nothing compares to waking up sober knowing you won that last battle and knowing you are stronger because of it. Every "no" is a victory.

Freaking awesome post! I love the optimism of it.
It's kind of a pet peeve of mine that we don't do more celebrating. I mean, sobriety is freaking awesome compared to the crap life I used to live.
Have a great weekend.
