20 days sober - craving wine

20 days sober & 28 weeks pregnant today.

Craving wine so bad..
In the back of my mind I keep thinking about the stupid studies I’ve read online about how a glass of wine a day while pregnant won’t harm baby..

But I’m never able to have just one glass.. that’s my problem.

Struggling to stay strong today!!!

Keep going. You are doing brilliantly. Try eating, going for a walk, watching Netflix......anything.....

The craving will pass. Just wait it out.

Congratulations on your pregnancy and 20 days sober. And, smart of you to post! Can you identify the trigger for your desire to drink?

Hi - Congratulations on 20 days sober. That's superb!

28 weeks of a growing baby is very miraculous. I don't know what body parts are supposed to be growing at 28 weeks, but for sure, a growing fetus doesn't need alcohol in its tiny, undeveloped body.

You did great posting first. To me, that means you don't want to drink. A crave is just a feeling and it's not going to hurt you. It will pass. Do anything but drink.

As I said, you're doing a fantastic job. Keep going.

Thank you! My husband is away for work for 2 nights so I think maybe that’s what’s triggering me?

I don’t want to and I know I’ll regret it so I don’t understand myself and my cravings!! They just become so strong even when I know it’s wrong

Awwwww - we all know about cravings. It's not wrong to crave - you don't have to act on it. You will have cravings from time to time, but they will diminish in intensity and duration. Ride it out. You'll be glad tomorrow when you didn't pick up. Hang in there. You CAN do this!

Its not the cravings that define our recovery E1234, what we do about them does

Coming here was a good move

try to imagine pouring that drink into the baby bottle......whatever goes past your mouth, goes to the baby.....you two are sharing a body. baby doesn't get to choose what s/he eats or drinks.

if you think cravings are bad, wait til you go into labor.
