Smile Hello from a noob!

Hello all, I have been having beer for 15 years now. Started small and grew over the years. Till 3 or 4 years back, I was having a 6 pack per week, but it has grown much now. I am now having anywhere between 12 to 15 beers a week. Last night, another binge and a black out. Woke up at 2 AM on the couch and my wife said, you said stuff in the party which was out of line. My face has bloated too and I want to get rid of this bad addictive habit. Hope you guys can support me as I start my Day 1. Thanks for reading!

Welcome calmself

I'm glad you've realised your drinking causes problems for you and it's great you want to quit. Welcome aboard

Thank you folks! I am reading "Naked mind" right now and slowly understanding the true nature of the beast. I now agree that the internal pressure which builds up is to satisfy the emptiness created by the previous drinking episode. All this days I blamed work related pressure to drink. Now i know who is calling.

We're definitely here to help, calmself. I was drinking every day when I found SR. I relied on it to help deal with problems & relax - but all it did was make me more anxious. Glad you found us - you can do this!
