I'm trying again
I'm glad you're not giving up Lara - that's huge! You mentioned in your first post that you didn't seem to have any withdrawals. You made it some into Day 2. What do you think you could have done or should have done differently?
Hang in there Laura. Good for you for coming back.

I get that Laura. Although I don't live alone, I isolated myself from other activities. I stopped doing things and/or participating just so I could drink. I didn't even read. I just sat there and drank. It was wonderful to be free enough to do anything but drink.

My drinking was very isolated, I never socialised and lived alone. Alcoholism is a master of having you all to itself. I only did 1 session at AA so cant give any advice on that but i highly recommend breaking habits and routines. Many I associated with booze over the years. Different routes home from work, exercise, new hobbies....and posting here etc!

We do have choices to make...with alcoholism (i'm only assuming you have it) succeeding and failing isn't part of recovery. Relapse is a hallmark trait of recovery. It's a deadly illness like so many others. Recovery happens in fits and starts. Best to you.
Welcome to the boards. I came here when I realized I couldnt do it alone. Eventually I was able to get up the courage to get real help (offline) but I still hang around here for extra support.
