I suck
Well hello again, posting to say day 1. It’s been a terrible may... don’t even know where it went since I drank so much.
I’m sorry I’m saying it again. But day 1... needing any support out there
I do have a therapy apt today, ready for a new life

Welcome back bumblebee
What kind of action plan did you have? how were you staying sober?
D
ps you don't suck- save that beating yourself up energy for making a recovery plan

Bumble - we all suck at this thing, until we finally separate ourselves entirely from it. These guys here have more experience and knowledge than I do.
But I've seen your posts and the fact you have a family and kids etc. I've leveraged my guilt and regret over being a drunk dad to finally putting the poison down for good. I don't mean to pick on that aspect of your drinking, but I know that it worked for me - finally being able to say that yes, I did screw up for a long period of my son's life, but no more - I am going to be sober and present and be an example to him of what discipline and the right life lived well means.

Good. Be honest about your drinking, the problems it is causing, your desire to quit, and your struggle to do just that.
May I suggest you make SR part of your daily plan. Coming here on Day one, then disappearing back to the drink isn't leveraging SR as a support tool.

Welcome back Bumblebee
I'm only recently back on here myself after several months of extreme binges and I'm now just on Day 3 with the worst withdrawals I've ever had! Got the audible hallucinations which are driving me crazy and v scary but we can do this!!!!!
Positive vibes over to you! I had a meltdown earlier and felt like **** but focusing on beating this now!
We can do it

Number of days I pointed in the mirror and said "You Suck!" : 3,297
Number of days of sobriety this activity got me: 0
Not only was it a useless activity, but I have become quite sure it helped my addiction maintain its control over me.
Taking the boot of self-loathing off my neck and treating myself like a friend who needed my help works a lot better.
Best of Luck on Your Journey!

Nonsensical - Like the post!
"Taking the boot of self loathing off my neck and treating myself like a friend who needed my help works a lot better"
I'm on day 3 after relapsing so these little statements really help
