Update: Day 21 and Doctor Follow-Up

Hey guys!

I am so excited to say that I am 21 days sober! I know it is still extremely early in my sobriety but this is a huge accomplishment for me. I also had a follow-up with my doctor today. He told me 3 weeks ago when he looked at my lab results that I was well on my way to liver failure and needing a liver transplant. When he looked at my lab results today he said that I still have a long road to recovery but I am no longer in danger of needing a new liver and the jaundice in my eyes is almost completely gone. He is confident I will recover as long as I continue on this healthy new life change. As far as my stomach pain and bloating, he said they are due to ulcers and prescribed medication for them. I have been very worried as to what was going on there... I am still in pain but relieved to know what the issue is now. I feel as if I have been given a second chance at life. I almost gave up last week thinking I was going to die anyways so what’s the point but I kept going and it is paying off. I didn’t let those demons tempt me into picking up that bottle and I will not let this disease control my life anymore. Thank you all for your support. Stay strong everyone... We can get through this! ❤️
