Whoa Boy!! AV is SCREAMING at Me!!!

It’s Sunday, and work week is about to start. All the things that could go wrong are racing through my head. “Just one or two to calm your nerves. It won’t hurt. No one will know. C’mon!!”

A double scotch is screaming at me. Called my sponsor but he is on a plane and can’t be reached. Some words of strength would help. Thanks in advance.😖

Play the tape thru to it's inevitable conclusion. Feeling horrible tomorrow. Shame, regret.

In order to stay sober you must want to be sober more than you want to drink.

good time to go to a meeting,Horn.
pick up your big book and read. help someone. work in the yard. call someone else in recovery.

aslo, stop future trippin and making the outcome bad.
if you want to future trip, make a good ending.

Just don't do it! Do something right now to take your mind off of it.

Thanks all. I have been feeling really well, then “bam!” I think it might have to do with so little sleep last night. I want to be sober way more than getting a buzz. But damn, i’ve Never had a craving this bad. I think it is starting to subside. I hope......

I had a horrible craving right after work today. Ate a dark chocolate bar and rode it out. Hard, hard and hard, but I got through it. Feeling pretty good right now. We don't need that crap in our lives....

I can relate Horn. Sometimes I do a really good job anticipating the mental/emotional triggers and then get floored by the physical triggers like a lack of sleep or even a sugar craving? I don't see them coming somehow. Just go to bed and catch up on your sleep

Cravings pass in about 20 minutes--the worst of it does anyway.

Distractions,distractions, distractions

Yeah, it is coming and going. Just need to ride it out. I think my blood sugar is low. I need to eat something.

Thanks y’all. Y’all have really, really helped.

We're not programmed for just a few.
You are stronger than that AV.
Don't let worries of tomorrow ruin your today.

Feeling like sh** in so many ways, telling you don't jump! It's not worth losing your self respect for starters....

Indeed. The worst has past. I am still anxious about the work week, and a few other things. But the urge to drink has past.

think of it this way....maybe that wasn't a "craving for alcohol" maybe it was just your body NEEDING something. like food. and rest. so next time you sense a craving, think over HALT first...

am i.....
Too Hungry
Too Angry
Too Lonely
Too Tired

in our drinking, we saw everything as a path to drinking.....every thought and emotion. now in recovery we can see that often we are simply missing some element of good self care.
