6 Tins left in Fridge

I have 6 Tins of cheap lager in the fridge. Should I pour them down the sink or should I use them to try to taper?
Tapering seems counterintuitive to the alcoholics so why is it recommended? Also what is the method for tapering?

I could never taper. I tried hundreds of times over my drinking career. I had to quit cold turkey. I do believe it is recommended to consult with your doctor if you are concerned about withdrawal. There is so much knowledge and support here, I think it will help you succeed.

Hi highercall

Tapering is often the advice you'll get from a GP in the UK, based on I think, the difficulties of the NHS to accommodate the enormity of the alcohol problem there.

I could never taper worth a damn tho, drinking me would drink all six and look for more.
