Day 2 without alcohol

After a good bender that left me broke I've decided to commit cold turkey. Still can't sleep with the anxiety and withdrawal symptoms. I've never been to an AA meeting, hope it's not too late.

It’s not too late, it’s never too late. I hope you feel better soon. One step at a time: doesn’t need to be any more than that. Keep going and best to you: you can do this. This community is here for you.

Welcome, msw31. It is definitely not too late. I hope that you are able to get some rest soon and allow your body to heal.

Love my meetings now! Took me way too long to finally get to one. 60 days ago, my life was completely different. No meetings, no sponsor, miserable all the time. Today I have a wonderful sponsor that i spent all day with, a couple of chips that make me very happy and proud even if they are plastic, lots of new sober connections and maybe even a few friendships in the works.

You won't regret quitting and you won't regret AA if you give it a decent shot.

Definitely not too late to go to AA. It's actually the perfect time!
Go, listen, share. Then go back again.
You'll learn so much!

Meetings help me
Cold turkey? I did that once, had fits and my son called an ambulance. I suggest you do this with a doc ...not necessarily inpatient, but stay safe.
