Monday Morning Anxiety

Sheesh. It is always bad for me. It would have been worse had I been hungover. Need to exercise this morning, which should help. Any other suggestions?

Heavy weights is always the best for me. Have you ever tried any kind of mindfulness?

Lots of good podcasts on that stuff.

Let's get back on the horse Horn. Owe it to ourselves.

Next time you consider drinking, think about that Sunday dread and the Monday morning anxiety.

Then don't drink.

If you have a Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, read pages 86 through 88, starting with, "On awakening, let us think about the twenty-four hours ahead." Then tonight before retiring, read the paragraph above that," When we retire at night, we constructively review our day."

You have to give yourself sober time.

It took me months to get rid of the anxiety.

The problem is we go back to drinking to ease the anxiety, and get stuck in the loop.

Lots of good suggestions here, but ultimately you have to get comfortable being uncomfortable for a while as your body and mind heal.

Recognizing the role caffeine contributes to morning anxiety has helped me. I've cut back to 36oz of coffee...which is too much but is manageable for now.

No, but I will. Anything to help.

Re: caffeine. I usually only drink about a cup, maybe two a day. It really affects my anxiety. In fact, I should probably give it up for a while.

Exercising is a good idea. Try to think positive thoughts.

The sun is shining here and I'm heading out for a 3 mile walk.

I am pretty much over the nausea. Still pangs here and there. I can eat though.

Working, playing, praying any behavior that empowers you! What all humans really seek is a sense of control. What we really seek is not a drink, a drug, porn or a bet, but a sense of empowerment, especially in the face of feeling helpless and powerless.

Seeing him today. Also a meeting tonight. Things have slowed down with my business such that I feel like I can get to a meeting every day.

Maybe your body is trying to tell you something. Are you possibly in the wrong line of work?

Is it okay if I PM you? I don't know how to do that. Would you please tell me how and then I will, if it's okay with you. Thank you.
