Few! I didn’t dwell on it .
My 20 year old labourer turned in to work half an hour late yesterday after an alnighter ( he got home at 5am)
He smelled like ethanol! Pretty much all day.
We were working in a confined space so I endured it.
Made me think back to when I was his age and doing the same things.
As the day went on I felt his pain. He was doing the same as I did for so many years when it was my beast tormenting me.
Later in the day as the clostrophobia started to get to me I began to feel very sorry for my 20 year old self and what alcohol and drugs had done to my life.
Even said “ I shouldn’t even be here doing this job” ( meaning I could have had so much more)
I realised it was not healthy to be thinking this way for too long.
I have a job
I have tip top health
I have a house
I have a daughter
I have a woman who loves me
I have a holiday to look forward to
I have my sobriety
I have the rest of my life to look forward to
Happy days!

Yeah.. I just started a new venture and my 'guy' is doing the same stuff. I've been dropping 'hints'/advice when I can,but it's his life to live and do as he pleases. As long as it doesn't affect my money/workload..whatever..do your thing, but when he starts making stupid mistakes and 'placing blame elsewhere'.. I call him on his stuff!

I can’t help but think it’s a little toxic working with an addict.
Although it seams to be like therapy at times.
Maybe that’s just the way of the world.
But if he becomes useless then business is business he will be fired

Was going to send him home but I let him struggle through.

That’s the kind of toxicity I don’t like, whining and blaming. Bad for moral.
A shame, you can’t beat them this day and age
Bit of aversion therapy

The thing is you know you’re not talking to the lad most of the time.
Just glimpses of him.
Seem to have got rid of my beast only to be dealing with someone else’s.

Coincidently, I am super grateful for the EXACT same things! Let’s all savor every sober day and live life to the fullest
