Dawn service here in New Zealand was really good, an amaZing clear sunrise, many tears choked back for my fellow kiwis and also for our bbrothers the aussies.. it brings a great sense of oneness as a people and also a great sadness for all those that died fighting for wars offshore and for the families that dealt with the scars of the soldiers that made it home. Both of my grandfather's were alcoholics of the 2nd world war and also my great grandfather's from the 1st world war..they luckily all made it home..
Lest we forget the ones that didn't...

Have a blessed ANZAC Day.

We Americans owe a huge debt of gratitude to the OZ/NZ forces that have remained steadfast allies and have made tremendous sacrifices on our behalf, whether or not they had any skin in the game. It speaks volumes about the mateship, loyalty and giving a fair go aspects of their culture.

I spent ANZAC Day 2008 at a James Squire pub in Melbourne watching the footie. It was a great day

Thanks for the wellwishes everyone - I'd like to pass them on to the other Aussies and Kiwis here as well and to everyone who fought for their country and freedom.

Lest We Forget.

War is a tragedy and a blight on our existence as a species.

But every soul who has given life for our freedom should be honoured deeply.

"When you go home, tell them of us and say
For their tomorrow, we gave our today."
~ John Maxwell Edmonds
