Back from in patient
Hi group. I got out of in patient today. I completed 30 days total. It was a struggle to stay there but I'm glad I did. I felt the whole thing took an element of surrender that I was definitely lacking prior. I have a sober date I intend to keep. HP willing. I like being sober but all the effort that goes into it can be a struggle. I don't want to use again and I can see that requires discipline.
Press,
Welcome back.
Are you taking meds to help you now?
Curious about what else you learned rehabbing. Maybe you can help me or someone else here.
I had horrible anxiety for nearly a year. It quelled to moderate the 2nd year. Now the miracle is slowly happening.
Of course, to celebrate, I crave.
I still crave pretty much daily. Yesterday, it seemed to peak around 3 pm. I stayed busy fiddling. It went away and now I am elated to be clean as usual.
My latest golf buddy was playing ghost on the message game. He thinks I care much. I don't even like golf that much. Oh well.
The crave is for life. It seems like a daily cycle. The difference obviously is....I simply don't drink anymore. Some folks need meetings. For now, I need me.
Around 6 pm, I made some amazing pasta that nobody but me will end up eating.
Thanks.

No one will ever take that experience
away from you. Never. That to you
and me and countless others who
also complete rehab is one important
accomplishment.
The seed of recovery has been planted
and now it's time for it to grow strong
and solid into a foundation to live your
life upon for yrs to come. Of course, taking
it one day at a time. Right?
August 11, 1990 is my own sobriety date
and has never changed over the yrs because
i continue to do the footwork necessary
to remain sober and achieve all the Promises
granted to us just by incorporating and
using the steps as a guideline for living
a sober, healthy, happy, honest life....
Then turn around and pass on this
important knowledge to others that
still suffer with addiction.
Congratulations on completing rehab
and sharing your experience with us.

Focus each day with visualizing what you want to accomplish, even a simple thing like getting up in the morning and shaving, showering and heading to the gym. End the day with thoughts of eating healthier, calling some (sober) friends, thinking about what you want your day to look like tomorrow. Retrain the brain!

Good for you! I think if you don't want to leave rehab at least once there's something wrong! But you stayed and that's so important. That stick to it-ness is what is required, especially early on. If there is an alumni group I recommend attending. It is a sobering reminder of where I was a year ago.
Welcome back.
