Hello History teach.

I believe that people have the right to chart their own course.

So do I -- providing they don't impose it on others!

I tried to join women for sobriety and recieved an email back that they would not approve me joining without my real name, where I live and my real occupation so they can verify online that I exist. Pretty off-putting. Not information I’m willing to provide for a whole slew of reasons. So much for that. Originally sounded like something I’d benefit from in my journey to sobriety. Makes me question what it’s really about and whether they’re legit or have other objectives than offering a forum for support groups.

I don't know, but I suspect they've had problems with male trolls and boneheads. Unfortunate. I have a friend who attends face-to-face meetings that I'm pretty sure are affiliated with this group. I don't know for sure, being a dude and all.

I would like to add Refuge Recovery to the list if I may

https://refugerecovery.org/

Refuge Recovery is a mindfulness-based addiction recovery community that practices and utilizes Buddhist philosophy as the foundation of the recovery process. Drawing inspiration from the core teachings of the Four Noble Truths, emphasis is placed on both knowledge and empathy as a means for overcoming addiction and its causes. Those struggling with any form of addiction greatly benefit when they are able to understand the suffering that addiction has created while developing compassion for the pain they have experienced. We hope to serve you, and meet you on the path.
