Approaching the 7 year mark
Hello all!
Well I am now approaching the 7 year mark for my sobriety. What a 7 years it has been. My last drink was on June 14th, 2011. At that time I had no idea that I would be where I am today. In the last 7 years my whole life has changed, and changed for the better. I write this today from my office where I am a certified alcohol and drug counselor. I feel very fortunate to be where I am today. I grew up with parents who used drugs and I later became an alcoholic. The deck was stacked against me, so to say. I some how beat the odds. I feel extremely grateful. I hope that someone reading this, who is in early recovery, can take something from this. Never doubt yourself, you can achieve anything that you put your mind to. I wish the best to everyone out there.
