I really wanted to drink today but I didn't

My daughter is sleeping over at her cousin's which meant my husband and I would be home alone together (not my favorite thing but it turned out ok). All day long I felt anxious about it and thought about drinking tonight. But then I gave it more thought and realized that if I did I would feel MORE anxious tomorrow, disappointed in myself, and will have to start all over again. Plus, if I am honest with myself, if I drank tonight I know I'd find an excuse to do it again tomorrow and so on.

Glad I overcame the urge. Now I can wake up without a hangover tomorrow.

This is great! Way to go. And I know what you mean, if I drank once I would 100% be off to the races with no end in sight.

Every time you say NO to the urge to drink, the easier it becomes.

A great example of taking it one day at a time.
