Hi, Everyone,

I have met 2 people from SR in person so far - Venuscat and Goat - who met on here - at their wedding! And I am looking forward to meeting another soon. It is a fun and surreal experience.

I was just curious if anyone had any stories to share on meeting someone from on here. I think it is a really interesting.

I met a good friend in person from another forum. It is very surreal and something I never imagined could actually happen.

I have met two SR members in person (lunch with one, MLB game with another), and I'm facebook friends with a 3rd.

Seen your from Ohio say I have to say hey buckeye haven’t ment anyone in person but I do keep in touch with someone by phone and couple PM awesome people tho which everyone on here is amazingly kind and supportive

I've met one person from SR. It was nice, but yeah, a little weird! I'm facebook friends with 3 SR friends. I'd imagine that's pretty common, though.

I feel really fortunate to have met some fellow SRers.

Two were from my "class" -- go August '13! One was visiting my area for work and I was visiting the city where another lived for work. Coincidentally, this took place within two consecutive weeks in 2014. Wonderful people and we remain in touch.

The third SRer is a frequent poster in the Weekenders, sharing her valuable insights. It turned out we not only lived close to one another but had mutual friends.

I also stay in touch with some folks on Facebook. Some of the best people I know are people I met on SR!

All sounds cool! Some of us in my class - August 2016 - had talked back then about getting together some day and meeting, but the class has mostly fizzled out.

I, too, have met two people on SR (1newcreation and erfra). Meeting them was so beautiful and, yes, a bit surreal. On both occasions, it was like catching up with old and dear friends.

I not only met one of my SR friends, she gave me a lovely cat, Lily. So now we share the love of a cat, as well as a friendship.

Chiming in from the F&F side - I've met one SR member IRL who is actually a double winner & posts on both forums. (readerbaby - she's not been as active in the last year) She visits family close to my home area so we usually meet halfway & get together for a long, long, super-chatty lunch .

I've also developed friendships with 3-4 other F&F members off of SR even though we live in different states & haven't met in-person - we text, email, call, send holiday cards, etc.

I have FB friends from SR and text with a couple of members. One member has become a dear friend to me, and we text almost daily and have talked on the phone a couple of times, but never met in person. It's quite odd, she's become a really close friend but we've never actually met. I'll bet it'll be like old friends catching up if ever we get the chance to meet face-to-face.
