Hey All
I just want to express my concern to all of you who received some extremely cruel PMs from a very sick member. I am so sorry that happened. We occasionally have a member like this who creates numerous accounts and we try to catch them as soon as we can.
There is only so much we can do when we see this kind of mental illness. I have personally talked to the member and addressed my concern that they see a psychiatrist and get the help they need.
There may be more PM's sent in the future from this member under new account names. Just continue to report them so we can deal with it quickly.
All of us here are so sorry that some of you were treated in such a cruel way. Please consider the source. This person has had around 35 or more member names. He/she is not well.

I think I've PMd the members who were targeted last night, but if I missed anyone, I am so very sorry that this has happened. Thanks for posting this thread, MG, and thanks to everyone involved for notifying us immediately.

Having been an admin/moderator on multiple forums in the past, I know how ridiculous the volume of people trying to use the boards for something other than their intended purpose can be. It never stops.
The fact that we have so little of this sort of thing (and spam, and porn, etc.) is a direct result of the tireless efforts of the mods and admins. So grateful for you guys and gals for making and keeping this a place of healing.

thank you greatly from here. me receiving them doesnt bother me as much as others receiving them. id hate to read someone rather new to recovery get one of these sick and vile messages and it set them off.

I want to thank the moderators and other SR staff for all the work you do behind the scenes. This is a great place, and at times I think we might take it for granted. The impact this website has had on my life, and probably countless others, has been invaluable.

Wow thank you for the info I didn’t know this kind of thing happened but I suppose with this many people and it being an open safe space it is bound to pop up. Good to know there is a triangle! Thank you all for looking out for us
