Vivitrol
It's borderline criminal that alcoholics and opiate addicts aren't told about Vivitrol. It's been proven to reduce cravings for alcoholics. Treating opiate addicts with metodobe or seboxone is just trading one opiate for another. I've gotten ten shots of vivitrol so far and it's done exactly what it's been said it does.
My understanding of vivitrol for treating opioid addiction is that it is significantly more difficult to actually start naltrexone, because it requires an extensive detox period — which can span more than a week — that buprenorphine does not.
I'm glad that it's working for you.

Nothing works for everyone but naltrexone is not that hard to get on and the injection lessens the nausea that the oral pills do.
Perhaps not a conspiracy but close. Anyone who recommends seboxone or methadone before giving vivitrol a shot is doing a great disservice to the addict. I'm involved pretty heavily with recovery here in long Island and many tell me that getting off seboxone and methadone is nearly as difficult as getting off opioids.

I have had some luck using naltrexone to stave off cravings, but it is not bullet proof. I used to only need 50mg to get me through a day, but now need 100mg, and even then have drank and got drunk on it. That's how messed up being an alcoholic is. No euphoria, but didn't matter.
