Strangest sensation
Hi everyone,
I’ll be eight months sober on March 16th. However, this morning (for the strangest reason) I started dry heaving. It started after thinking about chugging straight vodka (my old habit). I haven’t touched an ounce of booze nor have I been around it.
My stomach is absolutely sick right now and I’m still queasy.
I don’t know what to make of this??

It’s nothing that warrants seeing a doctor. I think it’s the fact that I’m still physically sickened by alcohol after eight months of sobriety - just the thought of it makes me literally gag.
I guess that’s a good thing in a sense.

Hi, Flinders.
I had some chobani yogurt with fresh raspberries last night, and it did not sit well at all!
Thought for a while I was going to lose it, but eventually all was well.
Strange, though, like your dry heaving.

Hi Flinders
At my worst I was downing whiskey straight from the bottle, throwing it up and forcing myself to drink more. If I smell whiskey now it triggers memories of that horrible time in my life and I also feel sick to my stomach. I think your reaction is good. It would really suck if the memory of vodka made you want to start drinking again.
