Then i can have times when i drink a case in 6 hours and just go beserk

yes I can relate also. Toward the end of my drinking it was me drinking a full 18 pack of beer nonstop all day completely unmanageable.

The time I managed to drink 'like a gentleman' were really few and far between, especially against the hundreds of times when I did not - even when I had good reason to try and control myself.

I can't remember much of my brother or sisters weddings for example...

But yeah those few times, of 3 or 4 beers when nothing bad happened, would feed me the futile hope I could be like that forever.

Very similar situation. This is the type of drinking that gave me the excuse to continue. Hell, if I could manage it 3 times a week, I got this and then BAM here is the weekend and I'm walking my neighborhood I a tank top and my panties not knowing what the fu*k I did when I woke up.
That was the last night I drank while 2 nights prior I had 3 beers and was fine with it.
Alcohol is not a friend of mine, such a toxic bi polar relationship. Glad to be free from it.
