Lucky 13

Day 13. Finished with the team early, so I’m at the airport very early. Spent the $75 to catch an earlier flight. I’ll be hetting home this evening 4-5 hours ahead of schedule. Winning.

I made it. First ever biz trip of this nature that I did sober. Results? I’m refreshed from a great night sleep last night instead of zombie-like, I was able to engage the team in a more genuine and effective way than ever, I didn’t spend money on stupid stuff. Win win win.

I’ve been seeing a lot of small victories of late. Insurance guy called me today to tell me that he’s able to reimburse me for recent work on my car despite the settlement with the bank having already been processed. So I’ll get a check for $900 in the bank in a couple days. The repairs on the car I’m getting up and running game in to half of what I thought it would be. Wrapped up 1/2 day early so I’ll be home early and have more time this weekend.

I can’t say for sure if it’s a higher power working in my life or not. But who am I to argue or question it. I choose to believe it is and I’m not going to question it.

Today’s been a great day to not drink.

I'm glad that you made it through the business trip without drinking. It sounds like you're doing well and feeling good.

Hey thanks.

On. My. Way. Home. Can hardly wait to get there.

I was thinking how in the past I’d get off the plane, hit the bar, and do a shot or two before heading to my car to drive home. Yea, I used to be that guy. I think I’ll leave him in the wreckage from two weeks ago.

Good riddance.

Grateful to be home early and grateful to be sober.
