Hello all I'm very exited to be here even though writing on this new tablet takes me forever and a day.....I am just about 52 and got so sick and tired of hangovers wasted days...and a life on hold.I did not stop drinking on January the first,as planned ,nor on a monday instead it was January 16th so it's been ,7 weeks and I still can't quite believe it, I feel so much better, but I also realize that I will need support to stay stopped and I have contacted an organisation with whom I have a meeting next week and then. I also have this place now.
I have been drinking since I was 14, my normal drinking has been,as an adult, often two bottles of the strongest wine I could buy, lots of whiskey with my neighbour and anything else I could get my hands on, with some devastating results at times, lots to write but just wanted to say hello.

Welcome to SR, listen; really very glad you found us.
Seven weeks of sobriety is wonderful.
Spoiler alert: sobriety and recovery get better and better. There is a lot of really good stuff ahead.
