Day 28 - saved $405...

and that's being very conservative at $15 a day.

Probably would have spent much much more really.

But that works for me today.

Staying the course.

No one is coming to save me.

I opened a seperate checking account for some of my not drinking money to go in. It's pretty crazy(not really though lol) how fast it builds. I'm not really a frugal guy,but have used the money 'angle' at times to keep me sober. Especially in early sobriety. I also had a bad habit of stupid gambling when I was drinking/drunk. I still gamble, but on a much smaller scale and nowhere near as often. When I pay for lunch my friends call it the triple S account. "sober, single, sane"

It's good to see a number. I never did the Math but i figured 15-20 a day plus I would smoke cigs which I go back and forth with. Ironically I am not addicted to those. So thats like 20.00-25.00 a day in addition to really stupid things I waste my money on while drunk online. WOW to break it down and I am always afraid to really add it up.

It can be one hell of a motivator to stay sober.

Nice job, less gravity.

I figure I've saved over $6000, not counting hidden costs such as late fees due to missing bills, etc.
Also, after I got sober, my income almost doubled because I was able to take on more work and perform it responsibly.
I wouldn't trade sobriety for anything.

My drink of choice was single malt scotch. Conservatively I was spending at least $40 a day, if not more dependent on where I was drinking, and whether wine would be involved too. I am saving a small fortune.

In my mind I knew it was about 400 but I think it is more and when combined with the other stupid things I was doing online probably like 800. It also affects me earning money because if I do any day drinking then I can't work at night and now I am learning that my BAL was so high (although this device is not completely accurate) that if I did any night drinking I couldn't work in the morning because of the random tests. So one day when I am further along I will do a calculation. OMG....

Awesome to hear, lessgravity. I could never make the money argument stick as a reason to quit drinking, but now that I have, it's a very strong one to stay that way.
