Day 5 but feels like forever
its been 4 days. On day 5. I’m doing good, but I’m conflicted. I’ll go from “omg on day 5, yay” to “settle your ass down, it’s been 4 days”.
Both congratulating myself and beating myself up (which is my special skill by the way)
This is my accountability post.

Way to be!!!
The early days totally dragged for me, until now I'm like wow, where did the last 5 months go?
It started to pick up at 90 days for me.
I also found that stating busy helps, so I found new hobbies have a goal of reading 2 books a month.
Blessings,
DC

5 days are some tough days. You're doing great. The early days also dragged for me. I could hardly wait to go to bed and get another day done. You do deserve a YAY! Keep it going, The days will start to pile up.

The first week was the toughest for me, Blondescorp.
I was hanging on by the skin of my teeth and support of SR.
Sometimes it felt that life stood still and I was in emotional coma.
The brain starts the process of recovery and shuts down lots of by-processes.
I am 5+ years sober.
I hardly remember that alcohol once was part of my life at all.
I am glad I didn't give up after 5 those brutal 5 days.
Best wishes.

Struggling
Today’s been rough. My husband works afternoons on Sundays and usually I like to have a couple drinks (honestly just a couple) and watch my shows. I am all alone and there’s booze, and my AV keeps saying it’s fine to just have one. And truthfully I AM able to just have one or two. But I need to go with NONE. So I think I’m going to get in bed and read.
Thanks for checking on me Dee

I can relate those seesaw feelings of "man I am killing it on day ___" and then "crap I have a long road to hoe, I suck, why am I doing this so late in life, etc" So here's to just not editorializing too much and not drinking.
Congrats on day 5.
I'm glad you decided to go to bed.
Truthfully there were times when I could stop at one or two as well - but they were only a handful time and not at all in my last 5 years of drinking.
I had to remember I really have no control when I take that first drink...sometimes it turned out ok - comparatively speaking - but most times not?
