Day 5

On Day 5 and going through a divorce. Husband was a daily heavy drinker and staying sober was very difficult for me. We have finally separated after 8 years. Feeling the loss of the relationship but also feeling more hopeful for my sobriety.

I am on Day 4. I have a lot of issues to deal with, but for now, I am keeping it simple. I need to catch up on sleep. Then I need a haircut. That's all I am thinking of today.

Try not to think about the big picture. No drinking today. That's it. The rest can wait.

Seems like you're doing very well for yourself. I think letting the relationship go is a very healthy choice you made for yourself. You should be precisely proud! You go girl.

Thank you all. It was very difficult for me being married to an active alcoholic and trying to get and stay sober. I do have a sponsor who I check in daily with and reading the AA literature has been helping. Was able to work out today and get a manicure/pedicure.
