Weekender Thread 22-26 February 2018
Oh, just remembered, I hope that wasn't insensitive. It wasn't meant to be - it is rare for me to get shotgun.
Thank you Dee, a thoughtful OP as ever.
Once you have enough money to keep a roof over your head, food in the fridge and clothes on your back, other things become more important than chasing a dollar but even doing that is better than chasing a drink or drug high.
RIP Billy Graham.
I am headed out of London on the Paris train, hence the early hour.

I wish my early hour had something to do with Paris. It was too hot in the bedroom over night, and I don't sleep well when it's too warm. I also have a lot of work stuff on my mind. I only slept about 4 hours. It's gonna be a hard day.
That's OK, I can do hard things.
Keep it sober, y'all!

I'm in. Tough time for me lately, lots of family and work stress. Drinking does not cross my mind, and for that I am thankful. If I had to face all this while drinking, the outcome would not be good. I can get through all this, nothing is permanent.

RIP Billy Graham. What a life he led.
There is snow on the ground. We don't get all that much snow. It's pretty. Sort of, not really enough to cover and it's prettiest when I can watch it falling.
The eagle chicks are flappity flapping, soon to be making their own way in the world. I've been trying to do that myself for a while! The poignancy isn't lost on me.
This is "Come to Jesus," I like it a lot in my older years. It reminds me of sitting in the pews in church as a kid. The last verse used to make me tear up every time.

You're welcome.
It's my mantra when things get rough.
I may not be able to make certain things go away, because they are out of my control, but I can try to remember that almost without exception, nothing is bad forever. And if something truly is bad forever (very rare), I can choose how to deal with that.

Happy Almost Weekend!
Billy Graham - my father loved him, other people in my family have very different opinions, he did a lot of good work.
Good weekend to get my outdoor things in order, we have the inspection on the new house and hopefully will hear all good on financing, I am not worried, our mortgage agent is not worried, but the bank we prefer to deal with, because of their super low rates is pretty slow at getting back approvals.
We are firming our deal and then going back in for a change/amendment to get an earlier closing. Which gives me just over a month - eeek!
Hope everyone has a beautiful, sober weekend!

Me too! Thank you!
I am being impatient as always LOL It's a major change in our mortgage, we had almost nothing left on our old mortgage, so increasing it by a half million, prices are inflated in our area due to the fact, the closest urban centre had their lending restrictions tightened and their properties are way over valued, so the broker assured me, it isn't our affordability or credit, we can more than carry this loan, it is the loan to value. So good thoughts they see what we do!
