Doing 90 meetings in 90 days

I went to AA last night and ran into my sponsor from 12 years ago. I need rehab but can't afford it due to new car etc. I have committed myself to 90 in 90. It will be tough but I will die alone in this house otherwise. Turns out my neighbour didn't want an apology just to get rid of me. It still really hurts to be so abused and used. I took out another loan to get the petrol. I am worried someone in AA will pissed me off and I won't do it or finish it. I don't want to be an AA statistic. I start tomorrow morning.

I think my neighbour know he has bled me dry so I am of no use to him now

If it works for you, do it. I went to rehab. Got a basis of what I want/need, and I'm still tweaking along the way. AA is definitely a part of my recovery, but so is many things. Stay strong and check in. I'm learning being honest and open here, like AA, is important.

AA is only there to help. People may say dumb things occasionally but they mean well.

They do mean well Sweetichick.
I'm glad you reconnected to your old sponsor.

90 in 90 sounds good.

I missed the meetings today due to the weather. My old sponsor said to stay home.she is so lovely. Back into it tomorrow. I still have the CDs she gave me. Might spend the night listening to podcasts.

I FINALLY listened to suggestions and started 90 meetings in 90 days (some days more) on 12/31/17. I am now 56 days sober. It works if you work it! Get a sponsor & work the steps while you’re at it! You can do it!!!

I did the 90 in 90, but there was a kind of subtext there. I took it as total immersion in AA, sponsor, steps the lot. In the end it was more like 12 steps in 12 weeks. I recovered and never drank again.

I sort of thought it was a bit like the gym. How would it work if I visited 90 times, but never worked out? Would I still get fit?
