The anxiety but could this be a factor

Every single day I am faced with extreme anxiety and I think it is getting worse. I had neck fusion surgery 2 weeks ago today. Although I was given narcotics to take at home I didn't take them, I only took Tylenol.

I think my anxiety may be worse since the surgery. Is this even possible?

I am fighting off the urge to drink because I know very well the path that will lead me to.

It isn't easy.

Anything is possible, Chow Chow. Call your doctor and schedule a visit.

Good for you for staying sober. Keep on keeping on!

Chow,

Every ache and pain I drank over, came back worse as soon as the booze wore off. Plus, I was in worse shape because I wanted more booze on top of aches.

It was a living hell.

I had to suffer horribly for well over a year. The brain damage was fierce.

At first I was scared the hellish suffering might be permanent. SR promised it would get better.

It did.

Thanks.

Yes it,s possible to suffer anxiety after any surgery . You have been through a traumatic time and your body's natural protection system can take time to settle down . This is not medical advice just what iv'e learned that when our body thinks it's under attack ( surgery ) it will send out stress hormones until you feel out of any real or perceived danger . put some relaxing music on , treat yourself ,think happy thoughts and you will begin to see anxiety melt away .
Alcohol will have the opposite effect .
