Thumbs down i think the universe is trying to tell me something

I went out to play some pool at my usual spot tonight.

The night started off great. An old friend came by and.. we had a few drinks.

No big deal really except my jacket was stolen. Absolute buzzkill.

Tonight was the final straw. I think this is a sign from the universe to quit the bar life and alcohol once and for all.

So tired of this. Tonight was really disappointing. What a way to add insult to injury.

I dunno if it's the universe trying to tell you something or not, but yeah, I've had money stolen, I've fallen down stairs gotten into altercations and I've been thrown out of many a hotel, all when drinking.

I'm glad none of that is part of my life now.

any ideas yet on how you might get sober and stay that way readyt0change?

D

Hey x
I think maybe you need to tell yourself first

Even the universe as big as it is couldn't tell me to quit

That had to come from me and only me ...
I wish you all the luck in the world ..

You can buy a very nice used pool table delivered/setup for $800US.. I mainly use mine to fold clothes on,but cheaper/safer than going to a pool hall.

Ready,

It was just a matter of time before booze gave me the coup de grace.

Glad to be done w that money and time wasting, health sapping habit.

Alcohol is a govt sanctioned highly addictive neurotoxin. It quells the masses and offers billions of tax and business dollars from cradle to grave.

Thanks.

ain't that the truth. the last 3 weeks since i relapsed from 97 days i've drank a few times. wasted a few hundred dollars and overall gained nothing.
i will recover.

the people who know me say my habit isn't that bad.. but i just don't wanna live this way anymore. i see the emptiness of it, of all drugs. they're pointless. but sometimes i give in and chase the buzz.

Yes! This. You fill the emptiness with something that is pointless!

Soooo .... to paraphrase Dees question above, how are you going to fill that emptiness? Not going to the bar seems a somewhat hollow solution. I think you need something a bit more meaningful.

Finding that, in my opinion, will be the key.

You know what you need to do and it sounds like you're ready to do it.

start with looking for more work tomorrow. back in the gym as well. i'm not sure what else. 25 and feeling pretty hopeless in life. not sure what to aim for either, except sobriety.

https://www.soberrecovery.com/forums...very-plan.html (What exactly is a recovery plan?)

Make a recovery action plan - one that specifically addresses you staying sober and how you'll make that happen.

You won't regret it

The "gained nothing" part is overall what I have realized from my stretch of being sober. I have literally gained nothing, and lost ALOT from drinking. The universe gives us warnings in different ways; I'm glad you found yours before something worst happens.
